4 down, 1 more to go

of the Synagis (RSV) injections that is. Justin gets his last shot March 5th which will protect him for another 28 -30 days. I'll be so glad when we're finally paroled and can leave the house for something other than doctor's appointments.

Dr. Hirsch wasn't as happy with Justin's weight gain this month. He now weighs 10 lbs 8 ozs, up 11 ozs from 9 lbs 13 ozs 4 weeks ago. Unfortunately the 20 oz + days were short lived and he's back to taking in between 12-15 ozs. Based on his eating habits (lack of desire to eat, refusing the bottle after only 1 oz, throwing up) it appears his reflux has gotten worse so she's starting him on Zantac to help control it. I was concerned he had this months ago so the NICU did take an x-ray, but it showed only mild reflux so nothing was done about it. The plan is to try this for a week since Dr. Hirsch said if it's going to work you'll see results pretty quickly. But if we don't see any improvement Justin will need to see a GI specialist. He can't continue on like this. Dr. Hirsch's words, not mine, but I totally agree.

  1. Definitely push on the reflux stuff. You don't want Justin to end up like Robbie. trust me, it blows.
If the Zantac doesn't seem like it's helping pretty quickly call back and get something stronger.
Until Robbie was on the Prevacid solutabs he was in constant pain.
