Last week Nate's school held beach days with sand and water tables, fishing, painting, tattoos and volleyball. They even turned the science room into the ocean with goggles and air tanks for the kids to go scuba diving.
Carl and I both volunteered and I assisted with the painters. I was writing each child's name and classroom on their paper but one little girl didn't have on her name tag so I asked her name but she told me she didn't know how to say her name but could spell it. So I wrote each letter as she spelled it and when we got to the letter I she looks at it and says "that's not an I" and then starts explaining what an I looks like and she describes the letter Q. Needless to say I wasn't able to write the little girls name on her piece of paper but it gave me a good laugh for the day.
