Feeding Update

Justin's always been a pretty good snacker; he loves his Goldfish, Cheerios and vanilla wafers.  But it's been a struggle getting J to eat 3 solid meals a day, and when he did eat he'd only take 1 or 2 bites.  We've also struggled with getting J to eat a variety of food textures; his preference was for pureed/mushy foods so he'd eat a lot of soup and applesauce.  I soon realized that what meat he did take in was never completely eaten as I'd often find it still in his mouth when I brushed his teeth the next morning.  So I'm hesitant to even say anything for fear that I'll jink it, but J's eating has improved tremendously.  He's showing an interest in my food, experimenting with tons of new foods/textures, eating everything I put on his plate and even asking for more.  He's also interested in feeding himself, which has been very messy.  But I'll gladly take the mess if it means he'll eat more.  We've had numerous setbacks but I'm hopeful that we're finally heading in the right direction.

  1. Yep! You're right -- take the food mess Justin makes. It does sound like you're heading in the right direction. Maybe Justin just doesn't like meat. After all, it's harder to chew. You may have a budding vegetarian on your hands.
