Swim Lessons

The boys started swim classes at Goldfish at the beginning of the month.  I tried talking it up to get them excited and initially it worked; the morning of their first lesson they kept saying "mommy, we go to swim class".  But as soon as we pulled in the parking lot Justin said he wanted to go home.  As I was completing paperwork J started psyching himself out and made himself throw up.  He reluctantly got dressed and held on to me until class started, even making himself throw up one more time.  He was very shy once we got in the pool area and I explained to his instructor and the supervisor how he was psyching himself out.  The nice thing is they're used to this and told me to go "hide" and they'd take care of him.  One of the lifeguards sat with him the entire lesson and when it was J's turn to work with the instructor she helped guide him in the water and then she'd keep him occupied while the other kids had their turn.  He was still timid the last 2 lessons but didn't need the lifeguard and sat on the edge of the pool while he waited for his turn.  Nathan on the other hand absolutely loves it and can't wait to get in the water.  His instructor says he has strong legs and arms but needs to work on getting comfortable with putting his face in the water.

Special thanks to Carl's aunt for paying for their first 2 months of lessons; it's much appreciated.
