He's not able to sit up on his own but can sit for a couple of minutes propped up against a pillow without falling over.
He's starting to roll from tummy to back and it's the cutest thing. He uses his legs to hike his butt up in the air and uses that momentum to roll on his side, but he can't quite figure out how to get his arm underneath him to roll completely over on his own.
He loves his activity mat and kicking his legs. He now realizes that if he kicks his mat it'll play music and light up.
He's very vocal, babbling, cooing and laughing all the time. He's even starting to make recognizable sounds, it sometimes sounds like he's saying hi, bye, ma, or da.
He's not picking up anything on his own but he's really reaching and grabbing for toys. He loves the forest animals on his bouncer and is always trying to pull them to his mouth.
He's really starting to notice his hands; he's always playing with them and putting them in his mouth.
He definitely knows who mommy and daddy are. He smiles when I come home from work and Lalla & Carlene have both mentioned that he smiles when he hears my voice when I call to check on him.
He's been sleeping through the night for months now. He normally goes to sleep between 10 and 11 and sleeps until about 6 or 7. We just need to transition him to his crib since he's still sleeping in his bassinet in our room.
Hopefully he'll be weaned off of his oxygen at his next DAC appointment on the 12th. I'm a little nervous that since his weight gain has been slow they'll be reluctant to wean him, so keep your fingers crossed.
Those are all important accomplishments and that picture is soooo adorable!
ReplyDeleteSounds like Justin is doing pretty well. Once he gets the hang of things he will start making bigger "steps". He is getting so big and is just as cute as ever.
ReplyDeletethose are great accomplishments. its really nice to read all of that and even see him in action. seeing him a few weeks ago was first hand evidence that he is constantly progressing and has come a long way. him rolling over sounds so cute...i would love to see him do that. pretty soon him and lil d will actually be able to play together instead of us just holding them and just chatting with each other. LOL.
ReplyDeleteThis was a great update. For the most part, Justin will be even more fun from now on.
