5 on Friday
As always, here are 5 special reasons I'm loving my boys this week:
1. Nate: When I grow up my kids will be Miles Jones and Jayden Jones.
Me: Oh you're gonna have 2 boys?
Carl: I hope they act the same way you act with me.
Nate: I hope they're good so I can buy them what they want.
2. Nate: I'll be working at Toyota when I grow up.
Carl: Doing what?
Nate: Giving people Corolla's, Rav 4s and Highlanders.
3. Me: Nate how old are you?
Nate: 6
Me: And how old am I?
Nate: (laughing) 1
Nate: Mom what's 10+10?
Me: 20
Nate: Mom you're 20?
Me: No I'm 37.
Nate: Mom that's an awesome age!
4. Nate: Dad, Justin's standing on something.
Me: Nate stop tattling
Nate: But Mom I'm not tattling I'm just telling on Justin!
5. During story time J started reading his new My Very Own Pirate Tail. I said "hey I thought I was supposed to be reading you boys a good night story". J says "Umm no I'm reading Mom"!!!

5 on Friday
As always, here are 5 special reasons I'm loving my boys this week:
1. I finally hired a cleaning service and when the boys got home from school Nate says "Wow she cleaned our whole house, that was really nice, but we didn't get to say thank you cause we were in school".
2. Justin: Mom where are we going?
Me: Breakfast with Santa
Justin: Yay, I love Breakfast with Santa!
3. Nate came in our room early one morning and I told him to go back to bed.
Nate: But mom I was checking on you to see if you feel better.
Me: I'm still sick Nate.
Nate: Oh, you need some medicine to make you feel better.
4. Since seeing the Christmas card Nate is now obsessed with my boss' daughter. So he told me he wants Vienna to be his girlfriend and asked I could ask Ms. Danielle to bring her over. When I said no he said "Ok Mom give me her phone number so I can call her".
5. Justin: Where are we going?
Me: School.
Justin: Again???
Me: Umm yes you go to school 5 days a week.
Justin: No fair!

Breakfast With Santa
As always I love creating these memories for the boys. This year we were joined by the boys' sitter and her son, Heidi & Tyler. All the kids had a great time!

5 on Friday
As always, here are 5 special reasons I'm loving my boys this week:
1. My Mom: Nathan what book are we reading for story time?
Nate: The Elf on the Shelf.
My Mom: Ok where is it?
Nate: Gammy your daughter, my mother, went to go get the book.
2. During my Mom's visit we had a family brunch with aunts and cousins and when my aunt from New York came in I had to do a double take because I thought it was my grandmother. When Nathan saw her he leaned in and asked "Are you Grammy's mother?"
3. Justin was choking and I asked if he put a toy in his mouth to which he replied "No mom it's the Cheerios...can I get some water to make me feel better"?
4. We received our first photo Xmas card and Nate asked to see it. Then he asked if that was the girl that was supposed to come over for Xmas photos and I said "No that's Mommy's boss and her daughter". To which Nate replies "Mom can she come over for a play date because I love her"!
5. Nate was looking for Cliff and couldn't find him then says "Dad said he's running late so maybe he'll be here in the afternoon".

Light Up the Night
Now that Santa Barn is no more, Light Up the Night is our kick off to the holiday season. The kids had fun at Light up the Night; roasting marshmallows, petting zoo, reindeer races and much more!

5 on Friday
As always, here are 5 special reasons I'm loving my boys this week:
1. Me: Here Nate, look what Mom & Dad brought you back from our trip.
Nate: (smiling) Oh this will be easy to color and finish.
Me: Is that a good thing, do you like it?
Nate: Yes, you can do it with me. You're nice Mommy!
2. After decorating the tree Nate says "Mom wow, look how nice it looks in here". Then he grabs the camera we got with our alarm system (which we told his was a Santa Cam) and says "Mom I wanna show Santa how nice it looks in here".
3. Nate was writing his 2nd Christmas list and Carl grabbed the pencil and wrote "He's being bad Santa". When Nate read it he took the pencil and said "I'm erasing this, Dad that wasn't nice, you should probably say sorry".
4. I asked the boys what they were thankful for:
Nate: I'm thankful for my toys, for my family, for my teachers and for myself.
Justin: I'm thankful for my brother.
5. I was reading a Lego City book about a kid who knew karate and J, who was wearing his karate uniform to bed, jumps up and says "Mom I know karate, hi ya" and did a karate kick.

As always, here are 5 special reasons I'm loving my boys this week:
1. Nate woke up and came in our room yawning while saying hello. Then asked "where are you going, are you going to work"? It was Saturday, not sure why he asked that.
2. The boy's fall asleep listening to music and rotate who chooses which station to listen to. It was Nate's night to chose and he says "Mom I chose smooth jazz cause I don't like rap, rap has bad words in it". When I said oh really, who told you that he replied "me, I told me that".
Nathan: me, I told me that!
3. Nate: Mom I have a loose tooth
Justin: Oh really Nathan let me see, open wide, say aah
Nate opens wide and starts wiggling his tooth with his tongue
Justin: Hmm that's very interesting!
4. Nate's so excited he finally lost his first tooth and couldn't get to bed fast enough and kept saying "happy loosing tooth day"! When he finally went to bed he had the biggest grin on his face and started fake snoring because he thought the tooth fairy would come faster that way.
5. I was cleaning the kitchen when Nate ran downstairs holding my phone and said "Mom your phone's ringing, you better call my Dad, you better call your husband".

Lost Tooth
Nate was super excited about losing his first tooth. Me, ugh because of course it came out right before picture day. But it seemed like that tooth had been loose for a few months. But now that that one's out the one next to it is now lose.

1st Day of School
I continued my tradition of taking the boys back to school pictures in front of their schools the day before school started. That night they read their back to school books, although Justin wasn't too happy about returning to school. We found out his teacher accepted another position a few weeks before school started and a new teacher wasn't hired until after the first week so he's having a rough start and still trying to adjust to the new teacher and routine. Nate settled back in nicely and is enjoying 1st grade.

As always, here are 5 special reasons I'm loving my boys this week:
1. We took the boys to the zoo and after coming out of the butterfly garden Nate saw a Mustang GT and says "It's all about the Mustang, it's all about that Mustang".
2. As we were leaving the zoo Nate says "Mom we had fun at the zoo, we had a nice family outing".
3. In the car and Nate sees a cop car and asks "Can we say hi to the officers, we should stop and say hi to them".
4. I asked Justin to pick a story for bedtime and he replies "Mom read this one, I like this one, this story's the best".
5. On our way to school and Justin says "It's cold in here" and starts rolling the window up. Nate says "But J it's only when the car is moving, calm down kid".

Superhero Party
Earlier this month Lalla, Carlene and I threw the Brouzins a back to school superhero party. In typical Georgina fashion I went a little overboard and took on a lot of DIY projects but it was totally worth it; I absolutely love how the phone booths and smash wall turned out. And I love the signs and invite created by Valerie Pullam. She liked them so much that she asked to use them in her shop so check her out. She did a great job!

Justin: A rainbow
Nate: A robot
Justin: No Nathan a RAINBOW!
Justin: Can we slide down the rainbow?
Nate: Can we have a rainbow cookie?
2. (Handing me a letter) Nate: You Wanna read it?
Me: Why, I just helped you write it?
Nate: Mom I'm handing it to you so you can read it.
3. Me: Nate why are you on my bed?
Nate: Because I wanna be with you.
4. We were heading out to a Lions pre season game and Nate opened my door for me and said "Here's your seat".
5. Conversation between Carl and Nate after leaving the dealership:
Nate: Dad you should get a Scat Pack.
Carl: Where will the money come from?
Nate: I'll give you some money on it.
Carl: How much?
Nate: I'll give you some nickels out of my piggy bank. The Scat Pack will be the fun car cause it's fast and the Hell Cat will be the work car. Thanks for taking me to the dealership.

As always, here are 5 special reasons I'm loving my boys this week:
1. The floor was slippery and I fell and my arm slid down the counter and started burning. Nate immediately asked if I was okay and if I was bleeding. Then after Carl said "Babe get some ice" Nate says "Do you need ice Mom, I can get you some"? and grabs a Ziploc bag and heads to the freezer to get me some ice.
2. Justin: Mom can you turn the music up?
Me: Can you turn the music up what?
Justin: Mom please can you make the music louder?
Me: (Turns music louder)
Justin: Thank you Mom!
Me: You're welcome J!
Justin: That was very nice of you!
3. Nathan: Mom my nose doesn't feel so well.
Me: Aww man I know, it's your allergies acting up.
Nate: Mom I want my allergies taken away!
4. While on our way to Zoey's birthday party:
Nate: Are we on Zoey and Zaya's freeway?
Me: No Nate it's not their freeway.
Nate: Oh it's the earth's freeway?
5. Justin: Are we at Zoey's party yet, are we at their house?
Me: But it's not at their house J.
Nate: Mom where is it then?
Me: You'll see when we get there.
(As we pull into the plaza) Nate: It's at Chuck E Cheezits or something like that!

1. Nathan: Uncle Richard do you have an Xbox in your basement?
Richard: Nope I don't but you can buy me one.
Nathan: Ok, I'll buy it for your birthday.
Richard: Yeah you can buy for my birthday, I've never gotten a birthday present.
Nathan: You can get for your birthday or stuff like that (looking at me). Mom can you buy Uncle Richard an Xbox?
2. After family dinner with aunts and cousins on my Dad's side of the family, Nate yells out as they are leaving "Thanks for being our company"!
3. Justin: I have to go to the hospital.
Me: Why do you have to go to the hospital J?
Justin: Because I need a checkup, duh!
4. Justin lost another tooth and walked in our room and handed Carl the money he got from the tooth fairy.
5. Nate: Mom can I have some money to buy someone a minivan?
Me: Who am I buying a minivan for Nate?
Nate: Ms Alexis, a summer care worker.
Me: And why am I buying her a minivan?
Nate: Because I like her!

As always, here are 5 special reasons I'm loving my boys this week:
1. I was setting up for a styled photo session and Nate says "Look that says rockstar, maybe I should go into that area".
2. We were getting ready for football and Nate says "Yay I'm excited Justin's gonna be on my team, on the Cardinals".
3. Nate: Mom will I live here on Emerald Forest when I'm an adult with my wife?
Me: Probably not Nate, you and your wife will buy your own home.
Nate: Mom will you be my wife?
4. Nate: Mom I will buy toys for my kids and apps and matching games and shoes. I can buy everything for them.
5. Justin's pulled a flag during his first flag football practice and Nate came across the field to congratulate him and tell him "Good job Justin".

As always, here are 5 special reasons I'm loving my boys this week:
1. We were playing Monopoly with the boys and Nate landed on a property and said "I have money for that"!
2. Nate rolled the dice and Carl called out the number he rolled and Nate kept counting the dice and then when he finished yelled out "Yeah Dad you're right".
3. We were at Belle Isle on the water and Justin says "look there's a cruise ship, there's Mickey Mouse" and starts singing the Mickey Mouse clubhouse theme song.
4. At GM river days Justin was excited to ride the Ferris wheel. Once on he says "this is awesome, this is amazing, this is so much fun".
5. At GM river days and the boys got their faces painted. Nate says "Nathan Jones is no more, I'm Spider Man and Justin is Tiger Justin". Then he says "Mom, what time will I be back to Nathan Jones"?

5 on Friday
As always, here are 5 special reasons I'm loving my boys this week (with a special appearance by Aiden):
1. Nathan: Good morning Mom, how do you feel?
Me: I'm tired Nate Nate, how do you feel?
Nathan: Great, how was your nap?
Me: Not long enough!
Nathan: My nap was GOOD!
2. I picked up Aiden from school and stopped at a restaurant to pick up food. As we walked towards the door Aiden ran ahead to grab the door for me and said "Ladies first". Such a gentleman!
3. Now that school is out the boys are splitting their time at Heidi's and Summer Care via their school district. The first week at Heidi's she told me about this exchange with Nate.
Nate: How many seats are in your Edge?
Ms. Heidi: 5
Nate: Okay (as he counts the kids) let's go to the Chevy dealership so you can get a Suburban and drive us around this summer!
4. I dropped the boys off at Heidi's and J was upset. The next morning Heidi told me J grabbed her leg after I left and said "I love you Miss Heidi, I missed you"!
5. Nate woke up one morning and we had the following conversation:
Nate: Mom my nose isn't working well.
Me: What's wrong with it?
Nate: It has a lot of burgers in it.
Me: Really Nate, burgers, you mean boogers?
Nate: Yeah mom a lot of burgers got in it from last night.
1. Nathan: Good morning Mom, how do you feel?
Me: I'm tired Nate Nate, how do you feel?
Nathan: Great, how was your nap?
Me: Not long enough!
Nathan: My nap was GOOD!
