Spray Park

A year later and the boys are still able to wear their swimming trunks from last summer.  They took a while to warm up to the spray park this year but ended up having a blast.

Justin is 4: Remember Me Preemie

Time is really flying by; can you believe that 4 years ago our 24 week miracle was born?  Keeping with tradition, here are pictures of Justin with his Remember Me Preemie doll.  This year Justin actually tolerated taking pictures with the doll and kept calling it baby.

Here are pictures of Justin with his doll from each birthday:

The Names Have Changed...

but the story remains the same. Once upon a time there was a sit to stand music player. On January 6, 2010, Aiden was playing with it when Justin scooted and squirmed his way in front of him so that he could play with it instead. Fast forward 11 months, on November 12, 2010, Nathan was playing with the same music player when Aiden scooted and squirmed his way in front of him so that he could play with it instead.

Notice the similarities in each photo (I promise this was not staged).

• the youngest brouzin is wearing footed pajamas but the oldest is dressed to play
• the boys are facing the same direction
• the youngest brouzin is facing the camera as if he is asking for help getting his toy back
• the oldest brouzin could care less because he got what he wanted

The 2nd picture was taken last September before I started the monthly pictures. What a difference a year makes.

14.5 ozs vs. 14.5 lbs

Here are pictures of Justin with his Wee Bundle which was made to his exact birth measurements. I was surprised that I got so emotional when it arrived. It was a painful reminder of his birth but also a nice reminder of how far he's come.

Size 2 vs. XS preemie

I was sifting through my scrap booking materials the other day and came across the extra small preemie diapers that Justin wore shortly after he was born. In case you don't remember he was actually too small even for the smallest preemie diaper so they had to make his diapers out of gauze bandages until he grew into them. It's still hard to believe he was ever that small.

6 Months Later

It's hard to believe that 6 months ago Justin weighed 14.5 ozs, 10.25 inches and now weighs 8 lbs 1 oz, 18.75 inches.

Most new moms will probably say that motherhood is an absolute joy from the day their child is born. I wish the same could be said for me. Don't get me wrong, I love my little guy with all my heart, but motherhood has been much harder than I expected. Perhaps its because I have 10 times the worries/issues of the mother of a healthy full term baby. But over the past month I've gotten to the point where I can finally relax and start enjoying being a mom. And I must say it's been GREAT!
