Leave it to Carl
I was reading the Ugly Duckling to Justin but J kept running in and out of his room during the story. So when I got to the end I said out loud "J, I guess I'm just reading to myself then, huh?". Carl was sitting in the glider in J's room and said "babe, I was listening". When I asked him what the moral of the story was he paused and said "hey, some people are just ugly". My husband is truly silly.

Leave it to Carl
Justin must have eaten something that didn't agree with him; poor little guy threw up a few times Sunday and couldn't get comfortable. So I spent a few hours with him on our bedroom floor trying to get him to relax. Later Carl told me that he posted the following on Facebook: Mothers have that nurturing instinct that us guys will never understand. I appreciate my wife for being the mother she is!!

Leave it to Carl
When I woke up yesterday morning Carl leaned over, gave me a kiss and said "Happy woman who gave birth to my children day".

Leave it to Carl
I got flowers yesterday and the card read "To someone special, maybe we'll get together soon, from your secret admirer". Obviously I'm thinking it's Carl (cause who else would it be) so I send him a text and here's how our conversation went:
Me: Did you send me flowers; they were just delivered and the card reads....
Carl: Guess you got an admirer...hmmm, must be your other man!
After a few more exchanges...
Me: No seriously, did you send me flowers?
Carl: Yes I sent them, part 2 of your x-mas gift.
Don't you just love unexpected gifts? Leave it to Carl to be so sweet!

Leave it to Carl
J likes to draw out the Z when he gets to the end of singing his ABCs. When he did that while we were Skyping with Carl, Carl asked what was wrong with J and why was he wining. When I told him that J was singing he laughed and said "I guess we don't have to worry about J's future singing career".
I thought parents always think their kids are great at whatever they do, regardless of the fact that they may really be bad. I think back to an episode of The Cosby Show when Vanessa had her clarinet recital. She was absolutely horrendous, but when she finished her mom stood up clapping and screaming "my baby, encore, encore". I imagine that's how I'll be, lol. Now that I think about it, I remember Cliff shaking his head as his wife did that and I can definitely see Carl doing that. Leave it to Carl!

Leave it to Carl
to provide priceless memories:
Nathan was in bed with us this morning and got a little fussy so I asked him, rhetorically of course, if I had nursed him on both sides. Carl, who was half a sleep, thought I was asking him if I nursed him and answered NO, lol!
Yesterday we were trying to rush through our grocery shopping since it was getting close to Justin's nap time. But J was so tired that he fell asleep shortly into the shopping. I turned my head and Carl and the boys were gone, but when they reappeared J's head was propped up on a roll of paper towel. Leave it to my dear husband to think of using that as a pillow; good looking out babe!

Leave it to Carl...
to provide some priceless memories.
Justin had his 6 month follow up with the pediatric surgeon who monitored his progress while wearing the helmet. Carl has taken him to this appointment once before but forget exactly where the office was located so he spent roughly 20 minutes wondering around Children's Hospital looking for her office. But, all things happen for a reason and the tardiness resulted in our son becoming a tv star. His Dr. is being featured and there was a camera crew in the waiting area filming. Carl said J walked up to the camera and waved. I'm sure that footage will be included as they had Carl sign a release; but the story should be posted to the DMC website in a couple of weeks and I can't wait to see it.

Leave it to Carl
to provide priceless memories:
Since Carl has Friday's off the plan was for him to take J to his doctor's appointments. Well the night before we were discussing the day's schedule and he says "so do I get babysitting fees for tomorrow?" I had to politely remind him that it's not called babysitting when the kids have your DNA. Leave it to Carl, lol!

Leave it to Carl...
to provide some priceless memories:
1) Carl was dressing the boys one morning but wasn't paying attention to the sizes and ended up dressing Justin in one of Nathan's rompers. When I mentioned that to him he says "umm, so you want me to change him?". Funny thing is, Justin fit into the romper without a problem.
2) Monday Carl picked me up from work and we headed to the BMW Ultimate Test Drive with the boys. We had to make a pit stop for diaper changes. Well that husband of mine forgot to pack diapers for Justin so I had to use one of Nathan's. Again it fit Justin without a problem.
3) Last night during dinner I guess I was nagging Carl about one thing or another. So he leans over and whispers to Nathan "son, don't do it, don't get married" as if he was getting married anytime soon.
